Hyundai to launch new Verna in India

Hyundai has plans of launching its facelifted Verna in India.Hyundai Verna is a mid-size sedan that is based on the concept of ‘large on the inside and compact outs’.The new Verna has already made its appearance in the Korean car market and now it is finally coming to india.

The New Hyundai Verna features a revised front face with more agressive overall exterior look. Styling upgrades on the facelifted Verna include a pair of redesigned headlights, new signature grille with two bars and Hyundai logo placed at the top.

There is also a sportier front bumper with redesigned fog lights. Styling changes at rear include redesigned tail-lights and redesigned rear bumper.The company launched Verna back in 2005, Since then the car has not received any major change in looks.The car faces hard competition from the, Maruti Suzuki SX4, Honda City, Ford Fiesta, and the Linea from Fiat, but has a different place for itself.

It is expected that Hyundai India may bring this updated model in India by early 2010 or by mid 2010.  As fas as engine is concerned it will powered by the same 1.6-litre engine with the VTVT (Variable Timing Valve Train) technology. It generates a peak power of 103.2 ps at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.9 kgm at 3,000 rpm.
