Maruti Suzuki plans to give a makeover to its popular hatchback the Swift. The new Swift will be longer and wider, the wheelbase is increased by 50mm and the overall length by 90mm,which makes it more spacious than its predecessor.

The new Swift has got a 1.2-litre petrol engine which is equipped with Dual VVT (Variable intake and exhaust valve timing) and produces 94PS at 6,000rpm. The improved torque is developed to 118Nm at 4,800rpm. The model is also available in D13A 1.3-litre diesel engine.

The car would give a tough competition to the Hyundai i20,the Skoda Fabia, Honda Jazz,VW Polo and the Fiat Grande Punto.

The car is expected to be launched by the end of this year, and would be priced around 5 lakh for the base model.

The Chevrolet Aveo CNG Launched

GM India launched a CNG variant for its mid-sized car the Chevrolet Aveo.The Aveo CNG is a bi-fuel vehicle featuring a full-size petrol tank which makes it one of the most environmentally friendly cars available in India.

The car has been tagged at a price of Rs. 6,26,645 ex-showroom Delhi. The CNG Aveo retains the much-acclaimed GM 3 year/1000,000 kms unconditional service warranty which has become a benchmark in the Indian automobile market now.

This car has a 1399 cc CNG engine which can generate the highest power of 94 BHP. The highest torque which can be produced by this car is 127 NM. Chevrolet Aveo CNG has a length of 4310 mm. Five people can sit with comfort inside this car. Aveo CNG has a ground clearance of 181mm. The fuel tank capacity of this car is 45 liters.

Overall a good car after The Hyundai Accent to go with the CNG option.

Mercedes Benz to launch A Class in India

The company has been planning for some time now but due to the poor demand for expensive hatchbacks they didn’t take any action.

The car would be priced between 16-20 lakh rupees.

Hyundai to launch new Verna in India

Hyundai has plans of launching its facelifted Verna in India.Hyundai Verna is a mid-size sedan that is based on the concept of ‘large on the inside and compact outs’.The new Verna has already made its appearance in the Korean car market and now it is finally coming to india.

The New Hyundai Verna features a revised front face with more agressive overall exterior look. Styling upgrades on the facelifted Verna include a pair of redesigned headlights, new signature grille with two bars and Hyundai logo placed at the top.

There is also a sportier front bumper with redesigned fog lights. Styling changes at rear include redesigned tail-lights and redesigned rear bumper.The company launched Verna back in 2005, Since then the car has not received any major change in looks.The car faces hard competition from the, Maruti Suzuki SX4, Honda City, Ford Fiesta, and the Linea from Fiat, but has a different place for itself.

It is expected that Hyundai India may bring this updated model in India by early 2010 or by mid 2010.  As fas as engine is concerned it will powered by the same 1.6-litre engine with the VTVT (Variable Timing Valve Train) technology. It generates a peak power of 103.2 ps at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.9 kgm at 3,000 rpm.

Chevrolet Launches The Cruze

Leading auto maufacturer General Motors has launched its most awaited premium sedan model Chevrolet Cruze in Indian market.The Cruze is expected to compete with the likes of Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta in the D segment, in the Indian market.

The Chevrolet Cruze will be available in a 2.0-litre diesel engine and has a 5-speed manual transmission. It is built on the GM’s global Delta 2 platform. As always expected, Chevrolet has not launched the petrol variant.

Apart from the spacious interiors and great styling the car also has airbags and ABS, well-laid instrument cluster, multi-information display unit, rain sensing wipers, funky interiors, and keyless entry and start. And the car also has an attractive fuel efficiency of 18.3 kilometres per litre, and is priced in the range of Rs 10.99 lacs to Rs 12.45 lacs (as ex-showroom prices in New Delhi).

Ford India launched the new Endevour in india yesterday.The car is a perfect combination of power, style, comfort and safety.

The new endevaour gets a fresh look with a new face, the new design includes new-look front design with a chrome grille combining with new headlamps, the 16-inch alloy wheels and the side mirrors.

The new Ford Endeavour has a contemporary style and will be available in two variants namely the 2.5-liter (offered with 4×2) Duratorq TDCi and the 3.0-litre (offered with 4×4) Duratorq TDCi common-rail engines which are priced between Rs15.99 lakhs and Rs17.99lakhs.

The car also includes some features like the Reverse parking camera, GPS navigation system with a in-car DVD player.

In all the car it great value for money and is the best in its class.

New Honda Civic India

Honda Siel Cars on Tuesday launched a new version of its leader in the D-segment the Honda Civic.Honda is facing a stiff competiton in the segment with the advent of new launches like Corolla Altis, volkswagen jetta and recently launched Skoda laura.To counter this and to revive the sales of civic, Honda came up with the new Civic.

The new Civic is available in four variants: Civic 1.8V Elegance, Civic 1.8S Elegance, Civic 1.8V Inspire and Civic 1.8S Inspire. These variants are powered by a 1.8L iVTEC engine, which is the most advanced engine technology available in the segment.he ARAI fuel efficiency results for Civic MT are 15.5 km/l. The car is E10 compatible and has Euro IV emission levels.

The car comes with some minor changes like the modified grille with sharp edges, new alloy wheels, changes in the front bumper, new rounded fog lamp  and a tweaked tail lamp cluster.The interiors too include some change like,addition of a USB port, fuel economy indicator and new fabric texture.The top end civic variant gets cruise control too. Sadly, there still are no steering mounted audio controls even in top end variants.

The the new civic variants are priced between 11 to 13 lakhs , where the Honda Civic S MT is priced at Rs11.80 lakhs Honda Civic V MT at Rs12.70 lakhs and the  Honda Civic V AT at Rs13.44 lakh.

Honda’s new civic comes in five colours – black pearl,white,red,silver metallic and neew polished metal metallic. Honda also offers two different accessories package for the new civic – Inspire and Elegance. Inspire package of new civic comprises front underskirt spolier, trunk spoiler,rear spoiler and side spoiler. The Elegance package offers parking sensor, door and door visor and illuminated garnish for steps.

All New Zen Estilo

On 25th August, Maruti launched the latest version of The Zen Estilo with a new engine, new looks and with new features. The all new Maruti Zen is packed with new KB-Series engine that offers high engine performance with increased fuel efficiency.Th car comes with premium interiors and has a two-tone colour theme, the seats have also been redesigned.

The car is available in four variants priced between Rs 3,19,403 and Rs 4,02,403 (on road price Delhi).The new Estilo is some what bigger than the original Zen and has a bigger engine (1061 cc) too.The car also has a new grill with a bold new bumper with integrated fog lamps. The front fenders have also been revised slightly.

The interiors are pretty much the same and the beige color look is carried over from the existing model.Some minor changes however include a new seat fabric, a two tone dash and a digital fuel indicator.

The biggest change and the best aspect of the new Estilo however the 1.1 litre engine taken from the Wagon R.The new Estilo has a KB10 Series engine present in the A-Star.

The Estilo has a 998 cc, Three-cylinder engine and five-speed gearbox combo. It gives a maximum power of 64bhp at 6,200 rpm and maximum torque of 84Nm at 3,500 rpm.According to the ARAI tests, the Estilo is expected to give a fuel average of 18.2 kilometers per litre.
